About Thom

Thom Flynn is running for State Representative in Strafford District 18. Thom was born and raised in NH. He graduated from UNH and earned a Master’s degree at Northeastern University.  He and his wife have lived in Strafford for 23 years.

Thom’s career included varied state government experience in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He has worked with incarcerated youth and in programs providing protection services for children, the elderly, and adults with developmental disabilities. He worked as the Education and Training Coordinator, NH Division of Public Health Services, Concord.  After 9/11, his career pivoted to Public Health, where he worked as a training coordinator, increasing local communities’ capacity to respond to bioterrorism events.  As threats lessened, the infrastructure was used to strengthen communities’ abilities to respond to natural and other disasters.

Thom is a lifelong runner, having completed several marathons, many half marathons, and 5ks.
