About Larry Brown
Larry Brown is a former 3-term New Hampshire state representative with over 20 years of public service on multiple town and county boards, committees, and commissions. His focus has always been on community, education, and historic preservation.
My wife Susann and I live in an 1800s cape next to the New Hampshire Farm Museum – together with one cat and an elderly Kubota tractor for rock wall repair. My entire life has been carried forward by the strength and sacrifices of women, and it is that experience that informs my service to community.
Priority Issues
Funding for Public Education
Paying for education through property taxes is hardest on the middle class, Capital Sin Taxes (alcohol, tobacco, etc.) are trivial bandaids, and a sales tax would be regressive and destructive for people who work. New Hampshire needs to fund public education from general revenue. In my opinion, New Hampshire needs to bring back the investment/dividend tax to help fund education
Women’s Rights
Women have the right to choose or end their pregnancy.
Affordable Housing
The ”terror“ of affordable housing is that it will bring in ”those people.“ The truth is, we ARE those people. Nurses, teachers, town workers, police, firefighters, restaurant workers – all the people we depend on. Without these people, we have no community. Accessory Dwelling Units are a good start. Mobile park community ownership should be funded and supported.
