I own MrSippy BBQ in Rochester, with a seating capacity of 58 seats, catering, and a food trailer. We’re critically acclaimed, and we’re barely breaking even. That’s not a complaint; that’s the New Hampshire small business economy in one sentence.

Before the restaurant, I studied to teach. I student-taught at Coe-Brown. Starting pay was in the low thirties, and I couldn’t make the math work. So I went in a different direction. But I’ve never stopped thinking about that math, because it still isn’t working, not for teachers, and not for anyone else trying to get by in this state.

My kitchen manager’s husband just got let go from his catering job because there weren’t enough weddings this year. I brought him on to work for me. But even with both of them working full-time, they still can’t find childcare they can count on for their one-year-old. They’re exhausted, they’re doing everything right, and it’s still not enough. They want a better future for themselves and for their son. That’s who I’m fighting for.

Concord isn’t fighting for them. I will. That’s why I’m running.”

Priorities

Right now, the leadership in Concord is doing nothing to truly help us. They’re giving tax breaks to big corporations like Amazon. They’re cutting funding for our kids’ education. They’re not fighting back against the tariffs that are squeezing our businesses and driving up costs. We need to put our state back on the right track. We need to make sure our state is working for those of us who are just making ends meet, not for the people who want to buy their third or fourth home. I hope that my legislative priorities are yours too:
