About Amy Malone

I have proudly called Rochester home for the past 25 years, and during that time, I have devoted myself to serving our community through years of volunteer work and professional experience. I have raised my own children and fostered children, providing me with a unique perspective on the challenges families face. My focus has been on supporting youth, young adults, and individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges. My passion for advocating for the underdog is deeply personal, shaped by my own experiences with these issues.

As I run for State Representative, I am driven by a belief in the importance of inclusivity and compassion. I strive to create a community where everyone feels valued and heard. Together, we can work toward a more inclusive and care-driven community for all. I am committed to being a voice for those who need it most, and I hope to earn your support in this vital journey.

Priority Issues

As I campaign for State Representative, I want to highlight the key issues that matter most to our community. Here are my main positions:

  • Community Inclusivity: I envision a community where everyone, regardless of their background, feels welcome and valued. I will champion policies that promote inclusivity and celebrate the diversity of our community.
  • Youth Empowerment: I believe in providing opportunities for our youth to thrive through education, mentorship programs, and extracurricular activities. Every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential.
  • Support for Families: I advocate for resources and support systems for families, including affordable childcare, healthcare access, and programs for foster families. Strong families are the backbone of a healthy community.
  • Affordable Housing: I recognize that affordability means different things to different people. This issue is about creating long-term, sustainable, and supportive housing options for all. I will advocate for policies that ensure safe, stable, and accessible housing for everyone, regardless of their financial situation.
  • Economic Development: I support local businesses and initiatives aimed at stimulating job growth and economic opportunity. I will prioritize promoting businesses that pay a livable wage and are recovery-friendly, ensuring that everyone has access to stable employment and the chance to rebuild their lives. A thriving economy benefits us all.
  • Mental Health and Wellness: I am deeply committed to improving mental health resources in our community, particularly in light of recent expansions to mental health initiatives. It’s essential that the incentives and programs being funded yield meaningful results. I will advocate for a thorough evaluation of existing mental health programs to ensure we are not wastefully allocating funds to initiatives that are ineffective. We must prioritize evidence-based practices that demonstrate real impact. Additionally, I recognize the importance of adequately funding these programs so that they can attract and retain qualified professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality care. Supporting our mental health workers not only enhances the effectiveness of these programs but also ensures that those in need receive the compassionate and skilled support they deserve.
  • Environmental Responsibility: New Hampshire faces significant challenges regarding waste management, including the inflow of trash from other states and the increasing pressure on landfills that are filling up and, in some cases, leaking toxic leachate. I am dedicated to addressing these issues by promoting sustainable waste management practices, enhancing recycling efforts, and advocating for policies that protect our environment and public health.

These positions reflect my dedication to building a stronger, more compassionate New Hampshire for all its residents. I am eager to work together with our community to achieve these goals.
